Smooth Jazz Online station

A standard radio setup that included songs by instrumentalists is a Smooth Jazz. It started with jazz and adult contemporary music in the 1980s as “adult alternative”. In the 1990s, the set-up developed much more jazz-oriented, with very slight new-age, and stressing young artists. Smooth jazz as a radio format has its origins in the structure of what was once called beautiful and lovely music stations.

The incubators of the set-up were forte shows at night or on the holidays, in places such as Atlanta (WQXI-FM and WVEE-FM), Miami (WWWL-FM) and San Antonio (KTFM).

the shift by album concerned with map KMUT in Los Angeles to KTWV “The Wave” made the plan more standard.

The smooth jazz music mix comprised of 70 percent instrumentals and 30 percent lyrics. Programmers no longer stared the music as purely “background”.

most effective stations included WNUA, KKSF, KOAI, WNWV, and KIFM, as well as WQCD, which had an important rating increase in fall 1993.

In 1994, smooth jazz practiced the largest increase in the relationship between audience share and promotion profits (“power ratio”). Though the format was snowballing in popularity, M Street Journal counted 43 stations in the arrangement, down from 64 in 1989. But new stations such as KKJZ in Portland, Oregon, and KLJZ in New Orleans experienced instantaneous success.

In a number of media markets, this arrangement is no longer accessible over the air excluding online, via Music Choice (an option made available by some cable television providers and on HD Radio. Currently, the most bulging of the few remaining commercials (and independently-programmed) smooth jazz stations are “The Wave” in Cleveland, Ohio.  “The Seabreeze” in Destin, Florida.

The format was less mutual at its uttermost due to relative lack of content to accomplish Canadian gratified regulations. Conversely, smooth jazz or some modified thereof has made a slight comeback in some markets, via AM stations. FM HD side channel/analogue decoder combos also temporarily allowed the setup to return to the airwaves in markets such as Detroit, Orlando, Florida; all of these have since transformed format.
